Great Ocean Road Icelandics

Great Ocean Road Icelandics is a small stud run by Birgit Kossmann, Trainer B of the International Gaited Horse Association.

Services:
Training (foal handling, preparation for starting, Starting of young horses under saddle, gait training) lessons and clinics. Stallion services, shop with essential Icelandic Horse gear and unique accessories.

Breeding goal:
Horses with exceptional temperaments, they have to be cooperative and positive towards the training. forward-thinking and brave, but very responsive at the same time. All mares are started under saddle to be able to select the best broodmares and know more about their traits. Another important factor lots of natural, easy trainable tolt. The confirmation has to be complementing the traits as a good riding horse (good self-carriage, strong legs, joints, and tendons as well as a strong back).

One imported mare:
DE2019241936 – Særún vom Lindenhof from Germany (8.03 in her young horse assessment).

The mares are matched carefully with the stallions within Australia and usage of frozen semen by Kveikur frá Stangarlæk 1 and Styrkur frá Leysingjastöðum II which are located in Denmark and owned by Lindolm Hoje.
